Dear Friends and Family,

Since the beginning of the bible school, over twenty years ago, we have seen many victories with trials as well. Included in the word “Victory” is the understanding that there was something to be a victor over. In other words, without a trial, there could not be a victory.

The following letter was emailed to us from our friends in the Philippines. Ding and Mona pastor a church and a Christian school in one of the cities adjacent to Manila. Pastor Ding gave the graduation sermon this year at our school, TBS.

Hello Nels and Lorrie,

We had an awesome time at TBS. We got to know better Edna and Buboy and the other pastors. We are truly encouraged by the outcome of the graduation and with the 16 graduates, plus the attendance of their parents and the pastors of their sending churches. It’s so encouraging to see that there are already students signed up for the next school year. I believe TBS will be growing into what you and Reap have envisioned it to be. Everything is getting into place. The graduates going back to their churches passionate and ready to be used by God. You have a good team of pastors here, diverse in their courses to teach, yet united in the same vision and purpose with Reap, that is to empower and equip the body of Christ. It’s awesome to see the first graduates of your bible school and now they’re leading and have good relationships with the break-aways from Life-builders. Be assured that they’re loyalty is with you. We talked… a lot and they saw your sacrifices and love for the school.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be in the TBS graduation. And for next school year, I signed up to teach Children’s ministry (teachings, workshops, and hands-on ministry) and Ding for Servant-Leadership as requested by the teachers. It will be for a week for the 2nd semester, maybe January or February. I pray you can be here too.
I just want to encourage you both. All your heartaches and sacrifices are now paying off. Nothing was wasted. The people you sowed into many years ago are now your leaders and workers. They love you and the ministry they’re doing.
We pray you can come back soon. They are so grateful for everything you have been doing.

The overall giving has dropped down considerably this year but with so many students the expenses of the school has increased. If you can give anything extra, it would be greatly appreciated. Dear Friends and Family,

We are so thankful God has allowed us to oversee a Bible School in the Philippines! We have the privilege of seeing men and women being equipped to “go into all the world” and share Christ.

Julius, one of our students, is 50 years old and is almost totally blind. He shared as a young person he was involved in drugs, sex, stealing, and other associated things. He shares, “When I realized the things that I do cannot help me grow spiritually that was the time when I have decided to follow Jesus with all my life. The transformation requires a good process and steps necessary for fundamental change…So, I asked JESUS to come to my rescue and take me out of the bondage and He really did. Jesus changes me daily, he gives me hope every day, and He renews my heart every day. Now, I am studying Bible at Trinity Bible School. I am so blessed that God blesses me with things that the world can’t give. It is the blood of Jesus that called me for a highest calling; to serve God.”

No matter how young or how old, God can use us to share His love with others! Thank you for joining with us as one who sends His laborers into God’s harvest fields.

With the modern technology, we are able to continue to oversee the operation of the school even though we are not physically in the Philippines. In addition we are continuing to supplement teaching via online classes.

We are continuing to improve the property. Workers are currently installing a new water tank that will increase the storage capacity for the upcoming dry Season.

Dear Friends and Family,

Lorrie and I just returned from Ireland. It was a great time of seeing two of our children, their spouses, and six of our grandchildren. We were VERY blessed by each of them! As an extra blessing, we had the opportunity to do some ministry. Lorrie and I participated in a leadership conference and spoke two of the Sunday services at the church where Noel and Heather pastor. As an additional blessing, our son Jeremy and his wife Nicole and family were able to visit on their way from Austria. We were able to pray over them as they prepared to go to Africa and begin the work God has called them to do.

It was our plan to continue from Ireland to the Philippines. Unfortunately, we are not able to enter the Philippines yet. We are hoping and praying that we will be able to go in October of this year. The school is doing great! We regularly communicate with the leadership though email and messenger. Both Lorrie and I are teaching classes via video in the interim.

Jordan, one of this year’s students, shared the following:
“I am a living proof of God’s goodness not because of what others are saying but because I personally saw how He moves and how His amazing grace manifested in me… many miracles have happened in my life that helped to shape and strengthen my faith in Him. Though I am experiencing those miracles and wonders, it is much more desire of my heart to believe in Him and to trust His ways in the good times or bad because He is true, and He is real.

I remember when I turned away from my old self. The impurities it gave me came out from my body…I was so grateful for the second life God had given me so that I can serve Him and He will use my life for His glory…Since I met and accepted Him, I will never hide what He has done and continuously doing in my life. This is one of the main reasons that keeps me strong and equipped to face every battle that is coming and will come as time passes by…In all these things, to God alone be the glory.”

It is because of students like Jordan we continue to spend our time and resources to train the next generation so that they can proclaim Jesus to their nation and beyond.

Dear Friends and Family,

We hope you are excited and filled with expectation of what God is going to do in 2022 in your life and in the world. We know there will be hills and valleys, but we are assured we can go with His peace knowing He is walking with us, and He has everything in His control!

God’s peace is not dependent on what is happening in the world or even in our individual lives.
We are told in Isaiah 54:10, “For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall the covenant of My peace be removed, says the LORD that has mercy on you.”

Even though we cannot go to the Philippines, we are choosing to remember God’s covenant of peace to us and believe He has ALL things in control. We are pleased the school is flourishing without us being there in person!

Below are excerpts from Ela Marie’s testimony, one of this year’s students:
“When I heard the news that Trinity Bible School will open a yearlong Bible school for those who are willing to learn more about God and be equipped with His knowledge and wisdom, I did not hesitate to study. However, it was not an easy decision since I am a college student and my parents were persistent in reminding me of things I need to prioritize. But I persisted even harder to convince them that studying in Bible School is far more important than secular studies. At the end of the day, they agreed to my plan. I prayed to God that if it were His Will, He would allow me to study in Trinity Bible School…I tried my very best to explain the importance of Bible Schooling to the church of Villa Aurora. I told them how important it is to serve God with all our hearts, minds, and souls. In Bible school, my willingness to be a future worker of God has been established. Also, I’m here in Bible school to improve my ability to worshipping God according to His Word and become knowledgeable full wisdom from God specifically in preaching His Word…I am also grateful to the staff and pastors who are helping the Bible School to function at its best…To God be the Glory.”

We are always thankful to you for partnering with us in raising up laborers for God’s field. Ela Marie is just one of many young people who are being trained to touch the world for His glory.

Dear Friends and Family,

As this year ends, we want to thank all of you for your faithful support with your finances, prayers, and encouragement!

2020 and 2021 have been years of challenges as we have had to navigate the COVID virus as well as political and social changes. The one thing that has, and will, continue to remain constant is the Lord is over all and knows all. Several times this last year I have been reminded that God is not in heaven wondering what we are going to do now? He has everything in His control. We just need to take time and look to Him for His guidance and encouragement as we journey through life.

It is our prayer for you that you have a peace-filled Christmas and New Year with the Lord Jesus Christ at the center of your attention.
